Administrative Assistant
This position is responsible for administrative work assisting with the coordination of housing intake and related main office operations for the Housing Authority of the City of Greer. Activities associated with the job include answering incoming calls and responding to inquiries and requests for housing assistance from the public. Additional duties include assisting with maintaining the waiting lists for both housing programs, sorting and distributing incoming and outgoing mail, collecting rental payments and maintaining program related files and supporting documentation. The administrative assistant also assists with processing and entering initial housing applications, entering and completing work orders and conducting quality control activities on resident files including all required documentation. Job related responsibilities require considerable experience performing administrative duties, considerable knowledge of modern office practices and procedures, strong organizational, interpersonal and decision-making skills, dedicated attention to detail, considerable knowledge of the functions and interrelations of the Housing Authority and other governmental entities, and the ability to effectively prioritize personal activities to meet multiple job assignments and established deadlines. Job performance is evaluated by the Executive Director through review of the accuracy and thoroughness of assigned work, knowledge of Housing Authority operational policies and procedures, ability to perform assigned duties in a timely, thorough and professional manner, level of support provided for the main office, and review of organizational, interpersonal and decision-making skills. Job-related duties are also subject to independent and HUD audits and reviews.
